How Many People Should I Bring to My Wedding Dress Appointment?

Let’s be real, gown shopping is a magical occasion for the bride-to-be. You may have an entourage just as excited as you to find that perfect dress, however, this is that one time to consider the implications of having a large group present when you’re trying on dresses.

After all, while this is a celebration, it’s also serious business.

When it comes to wedding dress shopping, the “more the merrier” concept might not work out as you envision. Look at it this way, an excess amount of opinions can be overwhelming and even frustrating at times.

Picking out your dress is an intimate experience, one that should be shared between you and a few trusted individuals. When thinking about who to bring to your appointment, aim for the people whose opinions you want to hear. We suggest telling your guest beforehand why they’ve been invited -- this adds to the specialness of the occasion, a select group to help celebrate and support you.

Also, think about how well each guest knows you, your fashion style, and your personality. They can give you a detailed insight and a unique perspective into styles they think truly look amazing on you, or why you wouldn’t like a certain style.

Keeping the guest numbers down is not only beneficial to the bride, but also to your stylist and others around you trying on dresses. Remember, simultaneous appointments are happening at once, our goal at Curve is to give all our brides that one-of-a-kind experience, which is difficult to achieve when large groups of people are present.

At Curve, we allow a maximum number of 5 guests (you would just need to be sure you are scheduled in our larger suite, as our other suites can host up to 4 guests) though we recommend highly 2-3 guests to get the most out of your experience.
